The Pep Talk (to myself)

Don’t give up. Never give up. We all have down days. Shit happens. You lose our path. You get lost inside our own head. Fear sets in. You get tired. Tired of working so hard for what you want. Champions don’t quit. They take their failures, learn from them, and turn them into a positive. Failure is good. Fear is good. Break through the fear. Breathe. Remember your goals. Remember what you are working towards. Remember why you are doing so. Think of how far you have come, not how far you still have to go. Work on your weaknesses, but don’t focus on them. Stay positive when life brings you down. Take a break. Never forget how hard you have worked to get here. Don’t quit. Never quit. You know what you want. Go and get it. Now. Don’t wait. Do it. Just do it. Stop making excuses. Stop being your own obstacle to your dreams. The only person who doesn’t believe in you… is you. Cry if you need to. Scream if you need to. Take your moment of weakness and remember you are only human. You are fallible but you are not weak. People will say things that will bring you down. Self-doubt will set in. Fear comes next. Feel it. Realize why it’s there and then set yourself free. You can do anything you set your mind to. Your mind can only stop you if you let it. You are in control. Don’t let the fear or doubt stop you from getting where you want to go. Break through the fear. The best things are on the other side. Stop beating yourself up. It’s ok to be afraid. Everyone is afraid of something. Success will only come if you try. Learn from your mistakes and turn them into successes.

At the age of 87 Michelangelo, the largely self-taught Italian sculptor, painter, architect and poet proclaimed “Ancora Imparo”, Italian for “ I am still learning”

You’ve seen it all before. Fight the fear. Break through and don’t stop learning. Earn your wings. Your mind will quit 10x before your body does.

Ancora Imparo. Never stop.
