Two years ago I started this blog after losing a lot of weight and getting “healthy”. What I didn’t know at the time was that the transformation was just beginning. The last two years has been a journey from trying to LOOK healthy to actually BEING healthy. I have learned so much while documenting my trials and triumph’s. When I started writing the blog I was a married stay at home mother of two boys (and a dog). I am now a fitness trainer, crossfitting, flip flopping, single mother of the same two boys and dog. I am passionate about my family, about exercise, and about food. I am trying to find balance in this unbalanced world of ours. Hopefully some of you can relate to some of the struggles of my daily life.
I have changed the blog name to Being Mia… because it is less about fitness and more about life.

Hi Mia – you look fantastic – what a fit, strong and beautiful woman you are. Is that Marlene behind you?? I have just discovered your blog – its great. good for you for putting it all out there. We should get together sometime soon Cheers, Gigi xxo
Thanks Gigi! That means a lot! Hope you had a great trip to the ranch and that all is going well with you. The picture is from my retreat to Costa Rica, and Marlene was not in attendance.
Let’s get together soon, and stop talking about it!
Cheers! Mia
Keep writing! This is great. I stumbled upon your blog and couldn’t stop thinking about it all day. I’m so inspired by your honesty. I will sit quietly in your corner, cheering you on. It’s a damn tough fight, but there are amazing resources out there to help you through. And to be honest this is one of them, as I’m sure it’s serving to make someone, or many, realize they are not alone. Keep on keepin’ on!
Cool blog Mia! ( I am Jaime’s old friend from HS, Sacha) and I just have to tell you that I think these are the most honest, amusing and totally relateable blog posts I have read in a while. Keep keeping it real.
Hey Mia. Found your blog and really identified with your ‘About’. (Minus the first part about being a mother of 2 boys with a stunningly strong husband) It is all about the balance but sometimes it seems impossible when the world seems to want to do everything in its’ power to throw you off. But you just have to keep on going with one foot in front of the other and somehow you get there; at least it seems like that’s worked for me so far. Thanks for being so candid; your honesty in your bog is refreshing!
I have an emergency trip to BC today for 2 weeks so I won’t be at your interval class for the next few sessions. Hate to miss the sweat! See you at the end of the month.
Mia I don’t have your email address… could you email me back to I have it? I’d like to ask you about how you set up your blog.
My email address is fitlikemia@gmail.com. I’d be happy to help
